You did not answer the question of why masks without air filters are allowed. Why are they not allowed? Is it distracting?

A. I am not sure what your question is… if you mean why are masks with ventilators not allowed, it is because of CDC guidelines. The CDC updated its guidance Aug. 7, urging the public to also avoid these masks: “Masks with exhalation valves or vents should NOT be worn to help prevent the person wearing the mask from spreading COVID-19 to others.”

If school gets closed down again, will there still be regents and/or SATS this year? I don’t think it would be quite fair since many students will not be getting the education or help that they should be getting to be able to take those tests.

A. Those decisions would be made by the NYS Department of Education and the College Board, not Shenendehowa.

What the procedure when a teacher or student tests positive, like the case at Chango? Is the whole class required to get tested, are they directed to stay home, is the classroom immediately sanitized?
