The Board agenda for the special board meeting on April 21, 2021 states that the board meeting video will be posted the next day. It’s now April 26, and the board meeting video is still not posted on the Youtube channel. Additionally, the agenda did not include a link so that the public could watch the meeting as it was underway. Why was the public not able to watch the meeting as it was being held? Also, why is the video still not accessible for the public to view?

A. It is posted now.

In the original calendar for 2020-2021, Monday June 21 was a holiday for the observance of Juneteenth. In the revised calendar, it is not. According to NYSED’s website, June 18th is the day for observance (i.e. no Regents exams given that day.) Can you please clarify which day Shenendehowa students will be off in observance of Juneteenth?

A. Technically, the law does not go into effect until June 2022. The NYSED Testing schedule was developed to provide school districts the “option” of recognizing the day this year, if they had enough days in the calendar (meeting the 180 day NYSED Requirement).
