A. The Infinite Campus (IC) system has been updated to reflect an added security feature. The Security Settings were set to notify a user if the password being used for IC was breached on another website. Notification of a breached password does not mean your Infinite Campus account has been compromised; it is an indicator that your password was used elsewhere – – at a site that had a data breach. As a precaution and good security practice, the IC system will send the user a notification recommending they change that password. The IC system will not prompt (nor force) you for a password change. This is just a notification, but with a viable recommendation to change your password. You will still be able to login. Note: Changing your passwords on a regular basis (in any system) is always a good practice. If a user’s password is identified as breached, they will receive a Notification of this issue in the bell icon in the upper right of the screen.

2/8/22 – Why would the junior prom be planned for the same day as the SAT? Poor planning and this date should be reevaluated. – Parent
February 8th, 2022 by lindsay.valentiA. There are numerous reasons…Proms are planned 12-18 months ahead of time. It is similar to the process of planning a large wedding. The venue has to be available and not have other events booked. The High School tries not to have it too close to the senior prom. Any earlier runs into Spring Break or potential for poor weather. Students also see it as a culminating event and would not want it too early in the spring.

1/31/22 – Why does Shen not have a theater program? How do we make our “theater club” become a program? – Parents, Students and Teachers
January 31st, 2022 by lindsay.valentiA. Thank you for submitting the questions related to the importance of musical theater and drama at Shenendehowa. There is currently no credit bearing option offered in theater which means any opportunity that is offered is considered extra-curricular. We may look to add theater courses to the HS Program of Studies in the future and if so, would follow the district’s process associated with program review and expansion. Theater Clubs are partially self-funded through ticket sales, therefore, funds really haven’t been cut to any club. In addition, the district pays for facility expenses, staff, and operational expenses in order to allow all Shen activities to operate safely.

With all the international trip cancellations in 2020 and 2021, this trip between the Science Department and LOTE Department, together, re-applied for this 2022 trip and was approved.
