Why do teachers have to switch between classrooms at HSE so often? Also, why is there not a series of classrooms in each hallway dedicated to one subject? In one of my classrooms, throughout the day there is a Social Studies, German, and Spanish class in the same room.

They can include but are not limited to….technology in the room requested by the teacher, proximity to other rooms for students and teachers, teachers teaching multiple levels of classrooms, the capacity of rooms, limiting the number of times students have to travel the length of the building between classes, etc.

Hi, I am a 6th grade student and I was wondering how do you get a talk with your counselor? I have been wanting to have a meeting to talk about something but I don’t know how you get a time where you can talk to your counselor. I’m guessing it’s not as easy as just writing a pass and going during a study hall. Thanks,

I am shocked that my child sings such religious songs in high school east chorus and choraliers. Is there not some guidelines to restrict singing about such Christian music?

In accordance with that policy, religious music may be taught for it’s musical value as long as criteria attached to 8360 is satisfied. Vivaldi’s Gloria, which was performed at the most recent HS choral concert, is standard high school choral repertoire and exposed students to the form of a major work, the style characteristics of Baroque music and afforded the opportunity for our advanced singers to perform arias from this time period.
Does shen have the power to search kids cellphones when taken?

In accordance with the code of conduct 4410R – If a cell phone is used, activated or displayed at an unauthorized time, the student may be subject to disciplinary measures pursuant to the Code of Conduct. If the building administrator confiscates a student’s cell phone, it must be turned off and stored in the principal’s office. Due to the sensitive nature of the contents of the phone, this policy should only allow for searches in limited circumstances when reasonable suspicion to believe that a serious and/or potentially dangerous violation of the law or a school rule has occurred and reason to believe that evidence of the violation will be found in the contents of the phone. Isn’t it a fire hazard for teachers to lock classrooms doors.
April 18th, 2019 by kelly.defecianiA. Locking doors is to prevent someone from entering the classrooms. However, to comply with fire codes, the doors allow teachers and students to open from the inside at any time in order to leave.
