Students from the Shenendehowa Robotics Club recently completed a 5 week collaborative learning program with students from the Schenectady Rise High Program, a community organization that offers STEM education to Schenectady middle schoolers.
During this time, Shenendehowa students worked with the Rise High Students to learn block programming and create software needed to drive a robot. The curriculum, created entirely by students from the Shen Robotics Club, was based on the challenges from the 2021 Robotics Season and including driving around obstacles, collecting balls off the field and shooting them into a target.
The Rise High Students programmed virtual robots to accomplish these tasks and score points. Along the way, the Robotics students showed off their actual robot they used during the competition season to accomplish these tasks.
The interaction culminated in a tournament to see who had the best robot and the best robot driving skills. Thank you to Rise High for making this possible, and thanks to are amazing new Rise High friends!
